Updatica Space is three tools on one engine, over the same vendors, licensed separately. The Installation Control Center is a separate tool, still in development: it is not part of the licence, it takes its reference data from these three.

It takes its reference data from the three tools above rather than maintaining a second copy of it.

Das ist bewusst hier zu lesen und nicht versteckt: Sie kaufen bei einer Person, nicht bei einem Konzern. Dafür sprechen Sie im Support mit demjenigen, der den Code geschrieben hat, und ein kaputter Scraper ist innerhalb von Stunden gepatcht statt in einem Quartals-Release. The software grew out of the daily work of a PC assembly line, because nobody there wanted to click through seven vendor websites every morning. That is stated here rather than hidden: you are buying from a person, not a corporation. In exchange, support is a conversation with whoever wrote the code, and a broken scraper is patched in hours rather than in a quarterly release. What you do not get is a 24/7 call centre. If that is a requirement, say so before you buy.

Die Prüfung braucht Zugriff auf die Seiten der Mainboard-Hersteller, sonst kann sie nichts lesen. Sie muss deshalb nicht im Produktionsnetz stehen: üblich ist ein separater Rechner oder eine VM mit ausgehendem HTTPS zu den Herstellern, von dem aus die geprüften Dateien auf eine Freigabe gelegt werden. Der Download-Ordner ist frei konfigurierbar, auch auf ein Netzlaufwerk. Eingehende Verbindungen von außen braucht die Anwendung nie.The check needs to reach the motherboard vendors' websites, otherwise there is nothing for it to read. It does not have to sit in the production network to do that: the usual arrangement is a separate machine or VM with outbound HTTPS to the vendors, which then writes the verified files to a share. The downloads folder is configurable, a mapped drive included. The application never needs an inbound connection from outside.

Dann steht das so im Bericht. ASUS, MSI und ASRock veröffentlichen zu jedem Treiber eine SHA-256, Gigabyte, NZXT und Sapphire zu keinem einzigen. Wir laden die Datei trotzdem - sie zu verweigern hieße, den Realtek-Audiotreiber zu verweigern, den die Maschine wirklich braucht - aber sie wird ausdrücklich als ungeprüft ausgewiesen, pro Datei und pro Hersteller gezählt. Stimmt eine veröffentlichte Prüfsumme dagegen nicht mit der geladenen Datei überein, wird die Datei verworfen und nicht abgelegt. Das ist keine Theorie: genau das ist uns bei einem ASRock-Treiber passiert.Then the report says so.
