It does not have to sit in the production network to do that: the usual arrangement is a separate machine or VM with outbound HTTPS to the vendors, which then writes the verified files to a share. The downloads folder is configurable, a mapped drive included. The application never needs an inbound connection from outside.

Wir laden die Datei trotzdem - sie zu verweigern hieße, den Realtek-Audiotreiber zu verweigern, den die Maschine wirklich braucht - aber sie wird ausdrücklich als ungeprüft ausgewiesen, pro Datei und pro Hersteller gezählt. Stimmt eine veröffentlichte Prüfsumme dagegen nicht mit der geladenen Datei überein, wird die Datei verworfen und nicht abgelegt. Das ist keine Theorie: genau das ist uns bei einem ASRock-Treiber passiert.Then the report says so. The real work is your motherboard list, a CSV with a model and a support link per board - if you already keep that in an ERP, it is an export.
